FERNANDA ASSUMPÇãO

Florida Supreme court certified Family mediator & Family Attorney

Fernanda Assumpção (pronounced “ah-soom-saum”), a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, focuses in Family Law and is licensed to practice in both the United States (Florida, 2011) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, 2006).

Fernanda earned her law degree from PUC-Rio, writing a thesis on International Adoption, and later obtained a J.D. from the University of Miami, where she also served as a Student Bar Association Senator.

In Brazil, she gained hands-on experience in Family Law as a certified family mediator and by clerking for a judge at the Family Law Court.

Since moving to the United States in 2007, Fernanda was involved with the Miami-Dade County Bar Association Legal Aid Society and earned the Legal Aid Attorney of the Year award for her pro bono work.

Fernanda currently manages a solo practice dedicated exclusively to Family Law.
